Google User Data (YouTube)

If you are a creator, you can choose to connect your YouTube channel to sheer via Google OAuth. When you do, we access certain information from your Google account ("Google user data") through the YouTube Data API, using read-only access.

What Google user data we access. We access data about your own YouTube channel, which may include:

- Your channel profile information (such as your channel name and avatar) and channel statistics (such as subscriber count, total views, and video count)
- The list of your uploaded videos
- Information about your public videos, such as title, thumbnail, duration, engagement metrics (views, likes, comments), and disclosure flags (such as paid product placement)

We do not sync, access, or store private or unlisted videos. Our access is read-only: we do not modify, upload, or delete any content on your YouTube channel.

How we use Google user data. We use this data to provide user-facing features of sheer, such as displaying your channel and video performance on your creator profile and including it in reports for campaigns you take part in. We do not use Google user data for advertising purposes, and we do not sell Google user data.

How we protect Google user data. We protect Google user data using industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit. Data is stored with established cloud infrastructure providers.

How we share, transfer, or disclose Google user data. We may share, transfer, or disclose Google user data in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. We use vendors who process data on our behalf and under our instructions to operate sheer, such as cloud hosting and infrastructure providers. These providers are subject to confidentiality obligations and may use the data only to provide services to us.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose data where we believe it is necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or valid requests by public authorities, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
- Business transfers. If sheer is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, Google user data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
- With your consent. We may share data with other parties when you direct or authorize us to do so.

We do not sell Google user data, share it with advertisers or data brokers, or use it to serve advertisements.

Retention and deletion. We retain Google user data for as long as your YouTube channel is connected to sheer and as needed to provide our services. If you disconnect your YouTube channel, we revoke our access and delete the synced Google user data within a reasonable period. You can also revoke sheer's access at any time via your Google Account security settings, or request deletion of your data by contacting us support. We will act on deletion requests without undue delay and in any event within the timeframes required by applicable law. We may retain certain data where required or permitted by law (for example, for legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes), and residual copies may persist in routine backups for a limited period before being deleted.

Limited Use disclosure. sheer's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Log Files

Sheer follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.
